Welcome to Our Community
Hi there. We’re so glad you found us.
This is the blog for The Sonatina Center for Creative Arts Therapy in Dover, NH — a place where music therapy, art therapy, and mental health counseling come together under one roof. We've been doing this work since 2010, and this blog is our way of bringing what we know out of the therapy room and into your everyday life.
Before we go any further, there are two things we want you to know right away.
You don't have to be a parent to be here.
Yes, we work with a lot of children and families. But we also work with adults — adults with developmental disabilities, adults navigating big life transitions, adults who just need a creative outlet and a little support. The beauty of creative arts therapy is that it adapts. Age, ability, background — the work meets you where you are. So whoever you are, this blog is for you.
You're not just a reader here — you're part of the conversation.
We're the experts in music and art therapy. You're the expert on your own life. How these ideas land for you, what resonates, what questions come up — that matters to us. We'd love to hear from you in the comments.
So who are we? The Sonatina Center is a group practice located at 750 Central Avenue in Dover, NH. Our team includes board-certified music therapists, art therapists, and licensed mental health counselors who are passionate about creative, evidence-based care. You can read more about each of us on our team page.
On this blog you'll find:
Evidence-based information about music therapy, art therapy, and counseling
Strategies parents and caregivers can use at home
Resources for teachers, healthcare providers, and other professionals
Honest conversations about mental health, creativity, and what it means to get support
If there's a topic you'd love to see us cover, reach out — we mean it. This community is better when you're in it.
Welcome. We're glad you're here.
