Who participates in music and art therapy group sessions?

At the Sonatina Center, we believe in creating inclusive environments in all of the work that we do. Individuals of all strengths and abilities are welcome in our groups, and often we have unique and diverse group participants which enhance the experience of all participants.

Each individual brings their unique strengths which may compliment or challenge other peers’ strengths or needs.

The therapeutic process of building awareness of self and others, valuing differences, and adapting oneself is integral to the group dynamics forming in each therapy group.

Participants often exhibit a period of growth and change over the beginning weeks, then form healthy relationships with their peers over the course of each group.

Participants who have joined are groups in the past include experiences with

ANXIETY - DEPRESSION - ADHD - AUTISM - BULLYING - SOCIAL SKILLS - LEARNING DISORDERS - COMMUNICATION DISORDERS - GRIEF - PTSD - CONDUCT DISORDER -
TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY - CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS

Participants are all ages at The Sonatina Center. Our music therapy groups start at age 2 and go all the way through adulthood. Our Art therapy groups start at age 6! Do you know someone who could benefit from a little extra support this winter?
