I have been helping children and families journey through varying life challenges for ten years. As a board certified music therapist in New Hampshire, I created The Sonatina Center with the dream of housing several creative art therapy modalities under one roof. I have a Master's degree in Music Therapy, and I am dual certified as a music therapist and birth doula. I have completed extensive training through Sound Birthing Music to be a Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth Specialist. I have ten years of experience working with Autism, Cortical Visual Impairments (CVI), Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD), Expressive Language Disorders, Fragile X Syndrome, Learning Disabilities, Seizure Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries and Williams Syndrome. I specialize in helping infants and young children of all abilities build communication, social, motor and cognitive skills necessary to thrive through music and play.

I am passionate about helping families during pregnancy, birth, and the early years while they navigate their new and ever changing family dynamics.

REBECCA GILDEA, MT-BC

As a board certified music therapist, it is my passion to find the strengths of my clients in order to develop experiences that engage and empower through a person-centered approach and philosophy. 

I've received my music therapy education at Appalachian State University in North Carolina and completed an undergraduate degree in musicology and voice performance from Marlboro College in Vermont.

In addition to clinical work, I believe in engaging communities through music in spaces that are safe, inclusive, and empowering. By creating space and opportunities for connection between individuals, we build stronger personal supports that celebrate differences which strengthens our entire community.

JORDAN ELIAS, MT-BC

As a board certified music therapist, I care about developing relationships rooted in unconditional acceptance. I believe in helping individuals find within themselves their own ability to make positive change by exploring their creative process.

I received my bachelor's degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I studied music therapy and psychology. I am passionate about understanding how the human brain processes music, and how those connections in the brain enhance all aspects of our lives. I am interested in how we come to understand ourselves through music and self-expression.

I enjoy working with people of all ages, strengths, and backgrounds, and I believe everyone deserves access to the care they need.

ALIAH MARDEN

ART ENRICHMENT TEACHER

I have been teaching art at Woodman Park School for seven years grade K-4 and feel extremely fortunate to be teaching what I love. I enjoy multimedia, collage, ceramics, painting, jewelry making, etc. I dabble in a little of everything! I went to Plymouth State University for my Bachelors for art education .I did my masters online through the University Of Florida Master’s program, and graduated with my masters in teaching art May 2017. I also teach private art classes for children and travel to people’s homes and teach drawing, painting and multimedia.

I am also training to be a birthing and postpartum doula through the International Doula Institute and will be certified in September 2018. I am very passionate about being side by side with families through their new journey in life, and really look forward to being certified and using my abilities to the fullest extent.

I strive to help kids find their inner confidence and creativity through all types of art, and making a mess and having a blast. The Makin' A Mess With Me art enrichment class at The Sonatina Center is such an amazing opportunity to do so!

LAURA BEAUDOIN,NCC,LMHC,ATR-BC

LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR, BOARD CERTIFIED ART THERAPIST

Laura is a licensed mental health counselor, a national certified counselor, holds NH DOE certifications in school counseling and K-12 art education, and is a registered art therapist with the Art Therapy Credentials Board.

"I currently work full time as a clinician and art therapist at a special education school supporting students with diverse needs in K-12th grade. I have a history of working in different school settings, community based in-home therapy, residential treatment settings for adolescents, hospitalized setting for adults in recovery and community grief centers. In addition, I spent time volunteering as an art therapist at a home and school for people with intellectual and physical disabilities in Sri Lanka. I have written grants to bring art therapy for families in need of early intervention services and adults with traumatic brain injuries.

I have seven years experience applying the arts as a therapeutic modality and offer meaningful creative experiences that foster strengths, empowerment, expression beyond words and healing. "

SUSAN U. RIEDL, MAAT, ATR-P

ART THERAPIST

A graduate from the State University of New York at Potsdam , I earned my degree in education with a certification in Art, and received my Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy Master’s degree at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Indiana in 2016. I hold a New Hampshire certification in Art Education K-12, and  I am nearing the completion of post graduate hours for both Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy. I am a member of the National American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and the New England Art Therapy Association Chapter (NEATA).

I have worked alongside people suffering from physical, emotional, behavioral, and mental maladies. I have over ten years of experience incorporating the use of art in a variety of therapeutic settings to promote healing and wellness. I have a great love for the human spirit and the creative process.  In my philosophy I believe that Art therapy is a beautiful experiential modality for people of all ages subsequently promoting a safe space to reflect, discover, nurture, and grow as an individual and transform relationships.
