Yoga and movement can provide healing benefits to individuals who have been affected by trauma or difficult life experiences. In this 10-week group class, participants explore gentle movement while building a more positive relationship to their body. Using a mat-based yoga practice as the foundation, participants are given choices for movement throughout the class. There is no emphasis placed on the external expression or appearance of the movement (i.e. doing it “right”), and the facilitator does not provide hands-on assists. As a result, participants are free to focus on their own needs as they choose among the options of how they move. Pausing and resting, and then rejoining the movement sequence when ready, are always welcome choices.

ICAN of the Seacoast

ICAN of the Seacoast, NH is a chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by reducing preventable cesareans through education, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).

Our monthly meetings are usually the 3rd Tuesday of the month. We have occasional Sunday meetings and sometimes we meet the 2nd Tuesday instead of the 3rd. They are held at The Sonatina Center. Unit U is at the back of the building on the lower level. You can park in the back lot and come in through the door at the center of the building.
